Verse1: World's gone crazy and I don't know why 'Gone are the days' and light in our eyes Seems like nothing is ever for sure We're packing bags for a ride in a hearse Chorus (Ancestral Choir): Empire Goodbyes Long-winded demise We're simply shadows in the night...crumbling inside Verse 2: I got this feeling we're slipping away Can't live for tomorrow when we're dying today The power-hungry people asleep at the wheel They rise, you fall...now you got to kneel Chorus (Ancestral Choir) Verse 3: So much knowledge but nothing to say Paradise was here but we blew it away Step right up, it's a real shit show... Bet you didn't know we star in it now Ancestral Choir: Empire goodbyes Long-winded demise We're simply shadows in the night...crumbling inside Empire goodbyes Come dry your eyes We're simply shadows in the night...crumbling inside Empire goodbyes (the sun will never set on)

Fool's Gold 03:25
Verse 1 If I were the King of Rock Making music and I just can't stop Singing how every shoe should have a foot in a sock And my smiling face on every cereal box Verse 2 And if I were the President I'd speak in tongues with the words I'd mince Make damn sure all your money gets spent And send in troops if you don't pay your rent Verse 3 And if I were a basketball star Making millions, driving fancy cars Signing contracts with those whose shoes I'm in Won't think twice about the kids who make them Verse 4 And if I were a homeless man Filling all my needs from that garbage can I'd have a life but I'd have no plan Your contribution keeps me right where I am Verse 5 And if I were the richest man I'd still want more and I'd have a plan 'Blue-collar throne' and your bad case of gas... I've made $50 million before you can find your ass Verse 6 It's just a Great Disappearing Act Integrity dissolves behind a wall o' cash You love that life? Baby, it won't last...Ha! Verse 7 We commoners? We just go on our way We thank the stars we've got food on our plates We sit a dream of being 'king for a day' But it's all fool's gold...don't take the bait.
3.
Verse Have you ever given it all...and stood before the wall? Have you ever knocked on doors...heard the pacing on the floors? It was this way that I learned a one-way love can really burn I gave it all to you But you just needed fuel Chorus Who's left to blame...when love has burst into flames What's left to save? Burnt hearts are never the same Verse 2 Have you ever lived a lie...gone searching in the eyes? Have you ever learned the truth...when they're not looking back at you? It was this way that I learned A one-way love can really burn I bargained but I lost One-way love has hidden costs Chorus Who's left to blame...when love has burst into flames What's left to save? Scorched hearts are never reclaimed Verse 3 You cannot keep what you cannot have Don't sleep at the wheel and let your love turn bad Nothing's forever nothing's meant to last But sooner or later love will break your back Verse: Have you ever lost it all...and you start to climb the wall?

Verse 1 I love the summer Everyone's so beautiful In the summer I love the warmth of the wind...the feel of your skin In the summer We'll eat cotton candy and ride the merry-go-round Then it's off to build our castles in the sand We'll go skating in the park, play with the children... Listening to a Dixie band. Verse 2 I love the summer Everyone's so beautiful In the summer We'll go walking hand in hand, feel the coolness of the sand In the summer We'll build a fire and play guitar and sing until the sun rises so gracefully We'll make love until our hearts explode into the arms of embracing ecstasy Verse 3 I love the summer Everyone's so beautiful In the summer Although the autumn's in the air still that feeling's everywhere It's the summer In the summer...I love the summer Verse 4 Our folks are leaving...without a trace And I wish that you could come with me So hold me close and comfort me... We'll wait and see how old we'll be... Come next summer, I'll be standing by out tree Come next summer I'll be waiting there, you'll see Hoping you'll come back to me Come next summer In the summer I love the summer

The Clown 03:20
Verse 1 The greatest force in nature is the clown Because he can get right up when the world is bearing down And he can wear that smile like a frown But me, I'm packing up... This town won't drag me down Chorus And I'm never coming back, Jack, to this life again I'm even gonna die trying, to the bitter end Because somewhere here inside my head, you know, I've heard it said that eagles fly free But in and an end that's dead, my friend, you know, I wonder why they wouldn't fly in me Verse 2 So now I strap it all to my back and hit the road Tired of leading a life that's like a butt of a joke And I'm tired of the same ol' faces in the crowd Tired of having to whisper when I wanna shout out loud Chorus Middle But all roads lead me home And home is where the heart is But you and me like a setting sun that shone What was once bright is now quickly fading Verse 3 Now I'm going back to that old town I took off to fast to see I was riding a merry-go-round And all them people gonna laugh because I fell down But the greatest force in nature is the clown

about

As with all my EPs, Bygone Roads is a pretty good sampler of my songwriting and, musically, has something for just about everyone.

Fortunately, I can use my music releases to support charitable endeavors. Having grown up in a household often visited by what is now referred to as "food insecurity," it feels right to do what I can to alleviate that situation for others. I appreciate the help of supporters of my musical endeavors for their desire to help others. Together we can make the world a little better. Thus, for the next year, all proceeds from sales of Bygone Roads will go to benefit Action Against Hunger - USA
(www.actionagainsthunger.org)

According to Charity Watch, Action Against Hunger - USA received an A+ rating, with 90% of the money they raise going to programs (relative to their overhead).
